MGI Scholarship Fund

History

The Patron of the Moerane Global Initiative (MGI) is Advocate Marumo Tsatsi Khabele Moerane (MTK) SC. He has built up an extensive Human Rights litigation practice from 1978 representing various individuals who were involved in the fight against the structure of Apartheid which some of whom are now playing a crucial role in the Republic of South Africa’s public and private sectors. He has appeared on behalf of the National government before the Constitutional Court and has been part of the team that represented the Constitutional Assembly before the Constitutional Court to have the Final Constitution certified.

Fund Management

The MGI Scholarship Fund (MGISF) will consist of an Executive Director and Evaluation Committee with the sole responsibility of awarding scholarships to applicants who shall meet the criteria set forth in the eligibility requirement of the MGISF.  

The MGISF will be managed by an Executive Director who shall have the sole responsibility of creating partnerships to grow the Fund, provide the day to day operations of the MGISF’s assets, and reporting to the Evaluation Committee on eligible applicants. Both the Executive Director and Evaluation Committee will have oversight by the Moerane Global Initiative’s Board of Directors.
