The Moerane Global Initiative looks to establish global partnerships to build the Artificial Intelligence programs for the future of South Africa’s Research and Development Strategic Plan

The Moerane Global Initiative, Inc. will provide education on human rights and global growth through the dissemination of facts, charts, graphs, and statistics. We will provide this information by presenting live media interviews, data-driven research, and lectures. These presentations would focus on the causes, current efforts, and solutions to world affairs and global fiscal policies. They also highlight the geographical, economic, and social aspects of how the lack of investment will minimize long-term economic growth.

Education is widely known to be the most imperative asset in improving stability and peace for any society. This powerful tool provides individuals with the skillset and self-confidence to aid the world and flourish in various ways. It grants the population with the knowledge to boost economic growth, reduce poverty, increase disaster response rates and much more.

Unfortunately, educational training is not easily accessible throughout Africa. Africa has some of the highest rates of educational exclusion in the world, while those who are lucky enough to be enrolled may not learn the basic skills necessary to enter the global workforce. Poor learning environments, technological inadequacy, and insufficient materials are just some of the major hurdles the system faces, and they create lackluster learning environments that are unable to inspire the students and the faculty.

While Africa is not the only continent facing these types of problems, its unique demographics add a layer of urgency to the situation. Africa is the youngest continent in the world, with 60% of its current population under 25 years old. Analysts predict that by 2030, the number of African youth (those between the ages of 15 and 24, as defined by the United Nations) will increase by 42% — and they already currently make up 19% of the global youth population. The problems in the African education system are stifling millions of bright minds and potential entrepreneurs.

USA STEM Students celebrating their first outreach program

MGI’s contribution to solutions on this critical issue is to seek collaboration and with its new Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science degree focused on artificial intelligence and the supercomputer, the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is forging new frontiers in AI education. Unique to MSOE, the supercomputer will be available to undergraduate students, offering them the ability to apply their learning in a hands-on environment to prepare for their careers. Thanks to the university’s corporate partnerships, students will access this high-performance computing to solve real-world problems in their course work. Through our scholarship program, MGI will be pursuing the opportunity to provide scholarships for this first-class curriculum to future South African STEM innovators.
